Isaac Patrick Crowchild has been named as Calgary’s 15th homicide victim this year.
Police say autopsy results confirm the 26-year-old man died from multiple stab wounds.
On Tuesday, officers were called to the 200 block of 11th Street N.E. around 2:30 p.m. MT following reports of an assault.
Police say Crowchild was with several other men having drinks before the assault occurred.
Staff Sgt. Doug Andrus says there was an ongoing dispute between the victim and accused.
"[It] escalated into a physical confrontation and as a result, the victim was stabbed," Adrus said.
A 43-year-old man who fled the scene has since been charged with one count of manslaughter.
Police say a second man could also face charges.
"We're trying to determine his involvement — that's a part of our ongoing investigation," Andrus said.
Officers interviewed four people who were in the home at the time of the stabbing.
