Braeside dog trap incident has some taking extra care
Police say they received complaint about a dog injured by mouse trap or board with nails in it
Some dog owners in southwest Calgary are taking extra precautions over concerns someone may have left traps at the Braeside off-leash park.
Calgary police say they received a complaint Thursday that a dog was injured by a mouse trap or a board with nails in it. Now, handwritten signs are posted around the park, warning people to watch out for traps.
"I think it's serious cause for concern," said Amber Roy, who runs a Calgary dog walking business. "Police should definitely investigate because something like that leads to bigger things.
Roy says she is avoiding walking her dogs through Braeside off-leash park for the time being.
The city says bylaw officers did search the park on Friday and found nothing.
