The minimum security unit of the Bowden Institution has been locked down after some inmates have shown flu symptoms, Correctional Service of Canada said in a release Thursday.

Visits have been suspended while the federal agency works with health authorities to manage the problem.

The agency said normal operations will resume once it is safe to do so.

The medium security unit at the institution was shut down for the same reason on Saturday but resumed normal operations Wednesday.
