An Alberta border crossing was closed for a few hours this afternoon after a suspicious package was delivered to the Canada Border Services Agency at the port.

The central southern Alberta town of Coutts connects Highway 4 in Alberta, south of Lethbridge, to Interstate 15 in Montana.

Police said the package was delivered to the border crossing, but have not said how it arrived, or any other details about it.

Travellers had been advised to use the port of Del Bonita — about an hour west — to enter to the United States.
