The Calgary Fire Department pulled a body from the Glenmore Reservoir around 2:30 p.m. MT which it believes may be the missing man who walked away from Rockyview General Hospital earlier this week.

The search for Wayne Pratt, 68, who suffers from dementia and was a patient at the hospital, had been underway all Friday morning.

While formal ID has not taken place, officials do not suspect foul play.

Pratt was last seen heading towards Heritage Park near the reservoir on Wednesday afternoon.

Search crews found some of Pratt’s personal belongings on the shoreline of the reservoir Friday.

According to Alberta Health Services spokesperson Don Stewart, Pratt ran out through alarmed doors of the hospital's medical unit. Staff chased after him but couldn't catch him, so they instead called security and police.

Stewart said AHS will review this incident and make changes accordingly.
