Calgary police say the death of a man in a Bridgeland home Monday night is not suspicious.

The homicide unit was called to the 200 block of 8A Street N.E. around 8 p.m. MT Monday when a family member found the deceased after going to check on their welfare.

After an autopsy Tuesday morning police said it was ruled the death was not a homicide.

"In this case we had a member of the family not see this person for a little bit of time, went to check, entered the residence and found the person deceased, and then they contacted us," said Duty Insp. Nancy Farmer.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, police wrote in a news release Tuesday afternoon.
