Provincial Fish and Wildlife officers and Calgary police were on the trail of a black bear that was spotted in several areas in the city’s southwest on Wednesday.

The bear was first spotted at about 9 a.m. in North Glenmore Park near the Weaselhead Flats natural environment park.

It was also seen about four kilometres east at the Earl Grey Golf Club and down by the Glenmore Reservoir.

There were reports the bear was heading towards the TsuuT'ina First Nation.

Sightings of a black bear in the area were also reported last Thursday.

Officials said they might try to catch and tranquilize the bear.
