Rescue crews helislung to ledge below climber, splinted leg and brought down for assessment
Rescue crews in Kananaskis Country helped a man off Mount Yamnuska on Friday after a beer fridge-sized boulder fell onto his lower leg.
The climber was struck on Missionary's Crack along a vertical section of rock face.
Two members of the Kananaskis Country Public Safety team were able to helisling to a ledge below the climber and build a new anchor, climb up to the patient, splint him and lower him back down to the new anchor.
From there, they were able to sling him down to a waiting team of paramedics.
So far, there's no word on his condition or injuries.
