Banff RCMP are working with local search and rescue teams as they look for human remains.

The search is a follow up from an earlier investigation in which partial remains were recovered in Banff National Park in August 2013.

RCMP say they know the identity of the person they are looking for but they are not releasing that information at this time.

Investigators have determined the incident is not criminal.

The 25-person search party includes members from both Cochrane and Calgary, and is not interfering with access to the park of its amenities.

The effort is expected to wrap up early Saturday evening.
