A natural gas explosion destroyed a family home in a community west of Calgary on Tuesday afternoon, Cochrane RCMP say.
Nobody was home at the time, and no one was hurt in the explosion, police said in a news release.
A ruptured gas line near the Redwood Meadows home is believed to have been the cause of the explosion, they said.
The explosion did not cause a fire and no other buildings in the area were damaged. The fire department and the gas company continue to investigate.
Redwood Meadows is about 25 kilometres west of Calgary.
