Airdrie teacher facing additional charges
Police say teacher breached order to stay away from student
RCMP have charged a teacher in Airdrie with breaching an order to stay away from a student.
The man was originally charged with sexual interference and sexual assault in October 2012, after an RCMP investigation into allegations he was having a relationship with a 17-year-old student.
The 35-year-old man was ordered at the time to have no contact with the alleged victim.
RCMP say a school resource officer noticed his car leaving the area of a high school on Wednesday.
Police say a subsequent investigation determined he had been in contact with the teenager.
He was charged on Wednesday with an additional 12 counts of breaching conditions of his release.
He was arrested in his home and taken into custody pending a release hearing.
