Airdrie RCMP are asking the public for help as they search for a suspect in the armed robbery of a liquor store just before midnight Tuesday.

Airdrie RCMP are asking the public for help as they search for a suspect in the armed robbery of a liquor store just before midnight Tuesday.

Police say a man entered the Eastlake Wine and Spirits store at 11:45 p.m. MT with a fake gun and demanded cash from the clerk.

The suspect left on foot and was tracked by a police dog to a nearby residential area but escaped in a vehicle, police said.

The suspect is a white man who is roughly six-feet tall.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Airdrie RCMP at 403-945-7200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
