Airdrie pit bull that killed poodle to be euthanized
Dog was mauled to death after breaking free from its backyard and approaching pit bull on leash
A pitbull that killed a poodle in Airdrie on the weekend will be euthanized Tuesday, officials say.
The attack happened on Saturday evening after the poodle broke free from a backyard in the community of Channelside in the city’s west end.
The dog ran up to the pitbull, which was being walked by its owner nearby.
The pitbull killed the poodle and then broke free from its owner and ran away.
Airdrie RCMP made patrols looking for the dog.
Its owner later found the dog and voluntarily surrendered it to Airdrie Municipal Enforcement officials.
