RCMP are calling the kidnapping of a grocery store employee in southern Alberta an unusual crime.
A female clerk locking up the No Frills store in Airdrie last night was grabbed by two men and forced into her own vehicle.
RCMP say the men drove to another area where they threatened her, then drove back and robbed the store.
"Crimes like these don't happen very often," said Const. Gennifer Morin.
She says employees who have to close up shop at night should always be aware of what and who is around them.
"Safety in number is a big enforcement we try to tell people," said Morin. "Be aware of your surroundings, be aware of the situation, try to travel with groups of people in well-lit areas."
The kidnapped woman was not physically injured. Police are still looking the two men.
