Air quality tested after IKO Industries fire
Fire crews have brought a fire under control at IKO Industries in southeast Calgary.
The fire started at around 1 p.m. MT and involved some asphalt containers at the company, which is located in the 1600 block of 42nd Street S.E.
The fire caused lots of smoke and people in a nearby building were evacuated, but no injuries have been reported. Crew are monitoring the air quality at the site.
IKO Industries makes roofing products and has been the site of at least five other fires since 2001.
The most recent fire, in March, was in a building being demolished by an independent contractor.
