Abducted girls spark search for Alberta mom
Girls missing from elementary school near southern Alberta town of Vulcan
- As of 5:21 p.m. MT on Wednesday, May 14, the Amber Alert for the two abducted girls is cancelled
Alberta RCMP are looking for a mother who is suspected of abducting her daughters outside an elementary school.
The girls were discovered missing Monday at approximately 10:45 a.m. MT from an elementary school in the hamlet of Brant, near the town of Vulcan. Their mother does not have guardianship of the children. RCMP believe her children snuck out of the school to meet her.
“Investigators do not believe the children are in immediate danger, however believe they have been taken either to Saskatchewan or Vancouver Island, British Columbia," RCMP said in a press release.
Vulcan is an hour-and-a-half drive southeast of Calgary.
