Crews respond to motor oil spill at northeast facility

Fire crews and a hazardous materials team are cleaning up after an oil leak at a factory in Calgary.

About 600 litres of motor oil leaked from a container at a manufacturing plant in the 3600 block of 34th Street N.E.

Employees tried to stop the spill before calling 911, officials said.

About two thirds of the oil was cleaned up, but some of it did leak into a storm drain.

The drain was closed while crews vacuumed out the oil.

No one was injured.
