$50K damage to Lethbridge headstones prompts charges
Some of the grave markers date back to the early 1900s
Three men face charges after vandals caused $50,000 in damage to headstones in a Lethbridge cemetery.
Police in the southern Alberta city say a dozen broken headstones were discovered last week in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Some of the markers date back to the early 1900s. Most were made of white marble, which officials say is no longer used by headstone manufacturers.
The suspects are charged with mischief and will appear in court on April 9.
