There are only two weekends left before Christmas, and thee weekends left in 2013, so there are lots of diverting and entertaining events going on in Calgary.

This weekend's list includes ideas for those of you still hunting for last-minute gifts, a few family-friendly ideas and a late night ugly sweater party.

The town south of Calgary is taking a walk down memory lane this Christmas with an Old Fashioned Christmas Exhibit at the Okotoks Museum and Archives.

The exhibit features hundreds of vintage toys, Christmas decorations and 14 little elves hiding throughout the museum. Finding them all takes a keen eye and a good deal of persistence, but it's a perfect challenge for kids.

Musicians with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra will be pulling back the curtain this weekend, giving kids a hands-on experience with their instruments.

They're calling it an "instrument petting zoo" but there will also be a lot of learning going on, with stories, demonstrations and music.

On Saturday, the Fifth Reel film club will be celebrating Christmas with the 1988 holiday classic Die Hard starring Bruce Willis.

Rum and eggnog will be served at the concession stand, along with an assortment of beer.

The theatre is licenced so you'll be able to enjoy your 'nog while you watch John McClean take on 12 terrorists to save his wife Holly.

The party includes live music before the film by local rock and roll group The Escorts.

A fun and unfashionable fundraiser for the Calgary Foodbank (

This is one holiday party you won't soon forget.

Tim Tamashiro, host of CBC Radio's Tonic, will be heading CBC Calgary's first Grinchmas Ugly Sweater Party on Sunday night. The spectacle will include live holiday tunes, bad jokes and hideous fashion. 

The event is also a fundraiser for the Calgary Food Bank.

Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.
