Four people are being treated for injuries after a serious crash in southeast Calgary shortly after midnight Sunday.

Police say a BMW M3 convertible ran a red light at 52 Street and 61 Avenue S.E around 12:49 a.m. and hit a Honda Odyssey.

The driver and passenger in the BMW were ejected.

The driver sustained minor injuries while the passenger suffered serious injuries.

As well, the driver and passenger in the Honda suffered minor and serious injuries respectively.

All four people were taken to hospital for medical attention.

The investigation is ongoing but police say it appears speed was a factor in the crash.

Alcohol does not appear to have been involved.

Any witnesses to the accident or the events leading up to it are asked to contact the Calgary Police Service Traffic Section at 403-567-4000.
