CBC Calgary arts and entertainment reporter Karen Moxely gives you three suggestions for weekend entertainment.

Breakout West Festival
The Breakout West Festival is on in the city right now. The event it hosted by the Western Canadian Music Alliance.
Over the weekend, 60 artists mostly from Western Canada, will perform at various venues across Calgary. Some of the artists include 100 Mile House, Jill Barber and Samantha Savage Smith.

Thursday to Saturday, venues around the city
Award-winning Calgary pianist Katherine Chi
Pianist Katherine Chi takes to the stage on Friday and Saturday night. Chi was the first Canadian and first woman to be named Honens Prize Laureate in 2000. The performance will start with Chi performing a Mozart piano concerto.
In the second half, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a 70-minute arrangement of Wagner's "The Ring Without Words." To get your hands on tickets, head to cpo-live.com.
Classics Showcase Series
Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., Jack Singer Concert Hall
On Saturday night, Cowtown Opera will host a "cabaret performance" at Christ Church in Elbow Park. The show will feature selections from Oklahoma, The Sound of Music and a few arias from La Bohem.
Tickets are $40, and will be available at the door. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m. MT. For more information head to cowtownoperacompany.com.
