Red Deer RCMP have arrested a second man in connection to the shooting of a Fas Gas clerk earlier this month.

The 29-year-old accused has been charged with attempted armed robbery and made his first court appearance on Monday.

He has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance on Wednesday in Red Deer.

Another suspect was arrested on September 13 after turning himself in to Blackfalds RCMP but charges have not been laid against that individual.

On September 11, police allege a lone male entered the Fas Gas in West Park in Red Deer and shot the clerk during a robbery.

The victim underwent multiple surgeries and has been recovering.
