The funeral for one of the teens killed in a car crash Wednesday took place Saturday at Scarboro United Church.

Spencer Hanson, 18, died when the car he was in collided with a pole on Elbow Drive and 30th Avenue. A driver came across the crash scene early Wednesday morning and called police, who declared both young men dead at the scene.

Hanson had graduated from the International School in Paris, France, and was set to attend the Ferrandi International Cooking School.

The funeral for the other victim, Josh Wozny, was held Friday.

Wozny, also 18, had recently graduated from Western Canadian High School and was heading to the University of Victoria in the fall.

Police say the driver of the vehicle was speeding but have not confirmed whether speed or alcohol may have caused the crash.

The speed limit in the area is 40 kilometres per hour and police say the vehicle was driving much faster than that at the time of the crash.

Based on the direction the vehicle was travelling, police involved in the investigation say it's likely the victims were on their way home.

Both victims were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
