2nd child dies following Chestermere crash
A six-year-old boy has died from his injuries following a crash east of Calgary that resulted in the death of another child earlier this month.
The six-year-old succumbed to his injuries Wednesday in hospital, where he had been in critical condition since a May 1 crash on Highway 1 near Chestermere, Alta.
According to police, shortly after 4 p.m. MT that day, the car carrying three children and two women turned onto the highway from Paradise Road and was hit by a van.
An eight-year-old boy died at the scene. A third child was taken to hospital but was released shortly afterwards and has been recovering from her injuries.
RCMP say there have been multiple collisions at the intersection of Paradise Road and Highway 1.
The crash is still under investigation.
