2 sex trade stings net several charges
Police have laid multiple charges following two prostitution investigations in Calgary.
Time for Massage, a business in the 1000 block of 19 Avenue S.E., became the focus of a police probe in December following reports of illicit sexual activity there, officials said.
After a search warrant was executed, a 49-year-old woman was charged with one count each of keeping a common bawdy house and benefiting from proceeds of crime.
Police conducted a separate sting last month focusing on street-level prostitution downtown and in southeast Calgary.
The vice unit and officers from across the city took part in the operation, police said.
Investigators laid 23 charges and issued 28 summonses.
