2 men charged in Airdrie house explosion in January
Both accused were badly burned in blast police believe was related to drug manufacturing
Two men have been charged in connection to a house explosion in southeast Airdrie at the end of January that left them badly burned.
At the time, RCMP said drugs were being manufactured in the house.
Two men who fled the scene were tracked down by police a short time later and rushed to hospital in Calgary with serious burns.
The explosion happened in an upstairs bedroom of the home and was intense enough to take out several interior walls.
Both men are now charged with the production of a controlled substance as well as arson.
They will appear in Airdrie provincial court on Sept. 18.
