A man and a woman from Calgary are in hospital after a fatal two-vehicle crash in Montana.

The state’s highway patrol says a car with Canadian licence plates went off U.S. Highway 93 north of Whitefish around noon on Wednesday, then swerved back onto the road and collided with an oncoming car.

The second vehicle rolled and landed upside down in the ditch, killing a 23-year-old woman.

The Calgary residents were taken to the Kalispell Regional Medical Center, but there was no immediate word on their conditions.
