1 woman in serious condition after being struck by car

Calgary police are investigating after a middle-aged woman was struck by a vehicle in a cross walk Friday night.

Calgary police are investigating after a middle-aged woman was struck by a vehicle in a cross walk Friday night.

The incident happened shortly after 6 p.m. MT Friday at the intersection of Country Hills Boulevard and Country Village Way N.E. Police say the woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

She was thrown to the pavement by the impact of the collision and then transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Jeep remained at the scene and police say there is no word yet on whether charges will be laid.
