1 child dead, another injured in Glenmore Trail crash

A young male child is dead after a crash on Glenmore Trail near Deerfoot Trail. Another slightly older boy is in serious but stable condition.

Pickup truck lost control, rolling into oncoming traffic and hitting a semi-truck

A woman driving a pickup truck lost control of the vehicle, and it went into oncoming traffic Wednesday night. It hit at least one semi-truck. (CBC)

A young male child is dead after a crash on Glenmore Trail near Deerfoot Trail.

Another slightly older boy is in serious, but stable, condition. He has some broken bones, but emergency services say he is expected to live.

Glenmore Trail S.E. reopened at 9:30 p.m. MT, according to Calgary police. It had been closed just past Deerfoot in both directions since the accident happened just after 5 p.m. MT. 

A black Dodge truck lost control while driving east on Glenmore when it hit the median, rolling over into westbound traffic and hitting at least one semi-truck. 

The female driver of the Dodge is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Both children are under the age of five. 

Emergency medical services say most of the damage to the truck happened where the youngest boy was sitting in his carseat. 

The driver of the semi was uninjured.
