Ald. Jon Lord says he will seek the Progressive Conservative nomination for the provincial riding of Calgary-Currie.

The seat is currently held by MLA Jocelyn Burgner, who wants to enter federal politics.

Lord says his background as the alderman for Ward 8 will help him address issues of particular interest to Calgary.

Lord is the second person to announce he is seeking the nomination for Calgary-Currie. Sean McKinsley has also declared his intention to go after the seat.

The nominating meeting will be held June 10.
