A woman was discovered dead Saturday morning at a popular fishing and camping site in B.C.'s Okanagan.
RCMP Const. Kris Clark said police received a call at 3 a.m. PT about a disturbance near the shore of Sawmill Lake, also known as Burnell Lake, which is about 10 kilometres northwest of Oliver, B.C.
"Police discovered the body of a woman at the scene and deemed her death to be suspicious," Clark said.
"A person of interest was taken into custody and investigators do not believe there to be any danger to the public."
The Southeast District Major Crime Unit and the South Okanagan Detachment are investigating.
