Woman dies in high speed hit-and-run in Burnaby
Victim hit by fraudulently obtained Range Rover that sped through a red light
A 25-year-old woman is dead after the car she was driving was rammed at high speed in a late night hit-and-run at the intersection of Willingdon Ave and Deer Lake Parkway near the BCIT campus in Burnaby.
Burnaby RCMP say a "fraudulently obtained" black Range Rover went through a red light at high speed before hitting the red car being driven by the female victim.
The Range Rover then jumped the curb, crashed through a metal sidewalk barrier, before coming to rest in bushes. A female driver and male passenger fled the scene and remain at large.
The incident happened around 11:45 p.m. PT, Wednesday.
Police believe the female driver of the Range Rover may have a head injury.
