March 28 to 30: Classical and contemporary music, comedy and olive oil tasting
The last weekend of March is a busy one around Metro Vancouver - with lots of music, family activities and laughs.
1. Sonic Boom Festival, Vancouver
The festival celebrates B.C. composers and their music. It's a showcase of musical ensembles, with emerging and established artists. This year John Oliver is the composer-in-residence, and featured artists are the Erato Ensemble and harp player Heidi Krutzen. Come enjoy the best of B.C.'s contemporary, classical new music scene.

2. Vancouverite: A Comedy Show, Vancouver
Comedians telling funny stories about adjusting to all the quirks that make the city of Vancouver so special. Storytellers include Randee Newmeyer, Ben Mills, and Alex Sparling.

3. Spring Fling at the Surrey Nature Centre, Surrey
Keep the family busy with fun-filled outdoor games, activities and eco-crafts for kids. They can hunt for bugs, look for birds and explore the Pole Forest.

4. George Rahi and his Musical Bicycles, Vancouver
If you love bikes and you love music this is for you. Instrument inventor George Rahi creates a range of sounds using bicycles... and you can try them out yourself too.
This interactive performance and workshop could stoke your creativity and get you inspired to make your own bicycle sounds! Host gallery ArtStarts is also celebrating its 18th birthday, so they'll have special activities throughout the day.

5. Greg Drummond with Factories and Alleyways, Vancouver
If you're looking for a solid night of entertainment with local musicians who know their stuff, head to the Backstage Lounge. Songwriter Greg Drummond is from Port Moody and he headlines the evening.

6. Olive Oil Tasting, West Vancouver
Participants will get to taste three presses from different olive growing regions in this educational and tongue-tantalizing workshop.
Olives have flavour profiles, just like wine, and you'll learn from an expert how climates shape the final product, as well as what to look out for when you go shopping for your next bottle of extra virgin olive oil! And you'll get to take home an award-winning olive oil from TresOsos farm in California.
