It's a dry start out there for your Thursday morning across Metro Vancouver — but the rain is on the way.

The South Coast will sit between two systems until about noon. That's when the next weather-maker will slide in from the south bringing steady rain through Thursday overnight and into Friday morning.

Rainfall totals will be between 10 and 40 milimeters by Friday morning, with the heaviest amounts on the North Shore.

Afternoon highs will still be fairy mild at around a 10 C for Vancouver. But that means high snow levels too and rain for the local mountains.

Showers will continue through Friday but there is still a chance for a few breaks on Saturday before getting back into a stormy pattern next week.
