Wagstaffe's Weather: A stormy Tuesday for Vancouver
South Coast getting hit with rain and winds Tuesday
Get ready for a stormy Tuesday, Vancouver. Steady rain moved onto the South Coast Monday overnight, and it's not letting up anytime soon.
A stream of moisture is coming to us from the sub-tropics, meaning rising snow levels along with the rain. Totals for Metro Vancouver by the end of the day will be between 30 and 50 millimetres.
The highest amounts will be for the North Shore and Howe Sound.
Winds will also ramp up through the day as the front approaches. Winds coming from the southeast will gust upwards of 50 km/h through the morning hours.
Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., wind gusts will pick up to over 60 km/h and will shift to come from a more southerly direction.
The actual cold front is looking to slide through after 5 p.m., at which point the winds will shift once again come from the southwest but will ease through Tuesday evening.
