Vancouver washroom arson suspect arrested and charged

A 28-year-old Vancouver man has been arrested and charged with two counts of arson, following a police warning about a series of fires set inside the washrooms of some downtown restaurants.

A 28-year-old Vancouver man has been arrested and charged with two counts of arson, following a police warning about a series of fires set inside the washrooms of some downtown restaurants.

Cameron James Fraser was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of arson. He is due to appear in court Friday.

Police first released details of three fires were deliberately last Sunday afternoon, July 27, asking the public for clues.

Shortly afterwards, two other businesses reported similar incidents occurring on July 24 and July 26.

Nobody was injured and damage was minimal.

Police say their is still an ongoing investigation into the arson fires.
