The Vancouver Police Department said calls came in at around 5:30 p.m. PT about a fight involving bear spray near Main Street and Terminal Avenue.

The two 15-year-olds found there both had serious injuries and were taken to hospital. They are reported to be in stable condition.

Sgt. Randy Fincham said the boy has been slashed in the arm, and the girl had been slashed in the neck.

Approximately four hours later, police took three people — two men and a woman — into custody.

"Around 9:30pm last night, two men in their 20s and one woman, a 19-year-old woman, was arrested," Fincham said Monday morning. "The men were arrested for aggravated assault and the woman was arrested for obstruction and they're currently being held in police custody pending criminal charges."

Fincham said the suspects and the victims are known to police. He also said the attack does not appear to be random, but detectives are trying to determine a motive.

Fincham said there may be witnesses who have not yet come forward or spoken with police, and he is asking them to share the information they have.
