Full power has been restored at Vancouver International Airport after an outage early Sunday affected some operations for several hours and prompted officials to advise travellers to expect slowdowns.

"We are working hard to fully restore operations. If you are flying today, please leave extra time to get to YVR and on your way," a tweet from the airport authority said earlier Sunday.

Another message at about 2:30 p.m. PT advised that power was back up fully, but another at 4:30 p.m. indicated some continuing internittent problems.

The airport had said intermittent power outages were still affecting non-essential services, including  some baggage carousels, restaurants, information screens and moving walkways, among others.

BC Hydro’s website did not provide details of the outage, but did say it was doing work on its equipment in the area of the airport, which is in the city of Richmond.
