New facility aims to give students a chance to rest during long days at school

UBC's new Collegia opened this school year to act as a home away from home for commuting students.

The private lounge offers a social place for first-year students to rest and nap by a river rock fireplace, heat up a meal, and meet with friends.

For those who want a place to stay overnight occasionally, UBC also offers beds in a Commuter Student Hostel in the Walter Gage Residence.

The CBC's Michelle Eliot took a tour and put together this photogallery.
