Trudy Hunter, 60, charged in death of Christina Docherty, 61

A Maple Ridge woman is facing a charge of second-degree murder four months after the body of 61-yera-old Christina Docherty was found in her Burnaby apartment.

A 60-year-old Maple Ridge, B.C., woman is facing a charge of second-degree murder four months after 61-year-old Christina Docherty was found dead in her Burnaby apartment.

Trudy Gail Hunter was arrested without incident Friday and made an appearance in Provincial Court in Vancouver Monday morning.

Police said foul play was suspected after Docherty was found dead in her apartment int he 4900 block of Hastings Street, near Capitol Hill, the afternoon of Dec. 2, 2013.

Sgt Jennifer Pound with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said investigators talked to witnesses, persons of interest and suspects who assisted them in putting the pieces of the investigation together.

"I can confirm that it was connected to the drug trade and was not a random act," Pound said.
