Police are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed outside a coffee shop in Surrey.

RCMP Sgt. Paul Reshaur said the teen was found in the parking lot of the Tim Horton's on 152nd Sreet across from Guildford Town Centre.

"The victim was taken by ambulance to hospital where he's being assessed and treated at this time," he said. "We're unsure of the seriousness, but it looks fairly serious at this point."

Reshaur said police are looking for another male who reportedly fled southbound from the scene.

No more information has been released at this time.
