About 2,700 BC Hydro customers on southern Vancouver Island were still without power on Thursday morning, after high winds knocked out power across B.C.'s South Coast on Wednesday night.
In downtown Vancouver, Davie Street was closed between Denman and Bidwell streets overnight after winds blew some glass from a construction site down on Wednesday evening. The street was reopened around 7:30 a.m. PT Thursday morning.
At the peak of the storm on Wednesday evening more than 25,000 people on Vancouver Island and more than 7,000 people in Metro Vancouver were without electricity, according to BC Hydro.
