SUV plows into stopped car at roadblock

Abbotsford police say one man is facing impaired driving charges after plowing into a stopped car at a routine roadblock.
Sgt. Lisa Shea of the Abbotsford Police Department says the accident happened at about 10 p.m. PT on Riverside Road near King Road.
“We were standing out in the roadway waiting to receive vehicles when this vehicle came over at about 100 kilometres an hour towards us and without braking, plowed into the Volvo that was stopped,” she said.
The four women in the Volvo were all wearing seatbelts and were not injured, even though their car was pushed about 10 metres down the road by the force of the impact.
