Human remains apparently found in burnt car in East Vancouver

Vancouver police are investigating a possible homicide after fire crews found what appeared to be human remains in a burnt car in East Vancouver.
At around 7:30 pm PT Saturday night, Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services responded to a call about a car on fire in the 1500 block of Carolina Street, just off Terminal Avenue in the False Creek Flats.
Police say fire crews found a badly-burnt vehicle and what was believed to be human remains inside.
Investigators from the Vancouver Police Forensic Identification Unit and the VPD Major Crime Section were at work at the scene throughout the night.
The fire is being treated as suspicious, and police are asking anyone with information to call the VPD Major Crime Section at (604) 717-2500 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 1-800-222-8477.
