B.C. NDP leader Adrian Dix will take another shot at reaching out to B.C.'s business community when he addresses a sold-out gathering of financial leaders in Vancouver tonight.

It will look a lot like a classic B.C. Liberal get-together, with 700 business and community heavyweights packing the main ballroom at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.

But it’s actually a B.C. NDP fundraiser, with Dix as the keynote speaker.

It’s the second time in just over a month that Dix has spoken to a largely business audience. He gave his first-ever speech to the Vancouver Board of Trade in September.

"I think what we want to do is offer stability and clarity,” said Dix.

“We may not agree all the time, but I think what we want to take away from this process is uncertainty and I think uncertainty is what the Liberals have provided over the past four years.”

Top of mind for many in attendance will be what Dix and the NDP might do with taxes if they're elected to govern in next May’s general election.

But Dix isn’t planning any scary pre-Halloween revelations.

"There isn't very much, if any, tax room. And so that means we're going to have a modest program focused on a few key priorities," Dix said.

Dix said Thursday night’s audience shouldn’t expect to hear everything the current Opposition has in mind. He said the party’s full fiscal plan will not be released until after the provincial budget next year.
