Vancouver Canuck Kevin Bieksa says he is not pleased to see scalpers trying to make a buck from a charity hockey game he has organized.

"I'm not too happy about that obviously, but there is not a whole lot you can do about those situations," the Canuck defenceman told CBC Wednesday.

Bieksa and his buddies, including Daniel and Henrik Sedin, Dan Hamhuis, Manny Malhotra, Max Lapierre, Cory Schneider, and Willie Mitchell will face off against the vastly outgunned UBC Thunderbirds next Wednesday night.

About 5,000 of the $20 tickets for the game sold out on Saturday about two hours after they went on sale. Shortly afterwards, ads popped up on Craigslist and other websites asking for $60 to $150 each for the tickets.

That's not sitting well with the man who organized the game.

"You kind of trust that people are going to do the right thing, being it is for charity. We did price it fairly low to give fans an opportunity to see us play at a reasonable cost," Bieksa said following a skate on Tuesday.

Daniel Sedin called the situation embarrassing.

Despite the profiteering, Bieksa says he is still looking forward to hitting the ice next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. PT at UBC's Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre.

"Well there is certainly a lot of work that goes into it, and I realized that right from the beginning, but luckily I have a great team and we are looking towards putting on a great show."

Money raised will go to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Canucks Autism Network, and the Canucks Family Education Centre.

The Canucks were sheduled to play their first regular season game against the Calgary Flames Thursday night, but all NHL have been called off because of the ongoing player lockout.
