One person is dead after a motorcycle crashed into a commercial truck in Abbotsford Saturday afternoon.
Police say the bike hit the truck as it was turning left into a driveway on Downes Road just after 12 p.m. PT.
The motorcycle rider was thrown from the bike and suffered critical injuries. The 24-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he died several hours later.
The driver of the commercial truck remained on scene and cooperated with police.
"What we do know is that the motorcycle was headed eastbound on Downes Road and ended up colliding with a 10-tonne truck as it was turning left from its westbound movement into a rural driveway," said Const. Ian MacDonald.
"We have interviewed some witnesses and certainly at this time we're attempting to discover if speed was a factor."
Abbotsford police are investigating the collision.
