Paraglider rescued from Chilliwack mountainside

A paraglider who spent the night alone on a mountainside near Chilliwack has now been airlifted to hospital in critical condition.
An RCMP helicopter spotted him after the man crashed his paraglider on Saturday evening, but rescuers couldn't reach him before nightfall.
Then on Sunday morning around 8 a.m. PT a Cormorant Search and Rescue helicopter was finally able to get him out, according to Captain Justin Olsen of the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre in Victoria.
"His condition is very serious. Just the fact it took them almost an hour of getting him ready for the hoist onto the helicopter indicates that his injuries are quite serious," he said.
"He was by himself all night, it must have been a very cold and uncomfortable night to spend on the side of the hill."
