As reported this week on CBC News Go Public, Atira Property Management stands accused of serious shortcomings in its running of publicly owned buildings that provide subsidized housing on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Why have these problems festered at many of Atira's facilities?
It appears that Atira became caught in a squeeze between under-funding from the province and over-zealousness by the city to get the homeless off the streets.
