Plane lands on Washington highway

The Cessna 182 taxied to a gas station after landing on the I-5. (YouTube)Drivers along Washington’s I-5 just south of Metro Vancouver witnessed a startling event Friday as a single-engine plane landed among them on the highway.
The pilot of the Cessna 182, with one other passenger aboard, was forced to make the emergency landing about 1:45 p.m. PT when he developed engine trouble during his approach to Bellingham airport.
One of the plane's tires glanced off the roof of a car driving north on the highway, but the plane still landed safely and there were no injuries.
The pilot, Tony Dulley, 47, who’d been on a 400-kilometre flight from Spokane, managed to taxi the aircraft three kilometres to a gas station.
Dulley later got a police escort for the plane as he taxied it to the Bellingham airport.
